In the story Is It My Dream?, a teenage girl, is thrilled when her aunt brings her to the big town to fulfil her dream and train as a hairdresser. As weeks go by, the girl realizes that her aunt only has plans for her to continue selling fruits and doing household chores. However, this brave girl is determined to get the training she has come for. Thinking Smart proposes girls “be smart” as one kind of safeguard against exploitation and abuse and provides a fictional example. The poem Inspiration completes the collection in this book.
