Biography of Manty Tarawalli

Manty is a Development Expert and Politician. As a cabinet minister in the first term of the Bio Government, she led the development and enactment of the groundbreaking Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GEWE) Act. This revolutionary law has enabled an unprecedented number of women leaders in Sierra Leone’s Parliament, Cabinet and across different sectors of the economy earning her the coveted 2023 Harvard Ministerial Award for outstanding achievement and also being recognized as a 2024 Finalist for Global Impact in the Women Changing the World Awards, organized by Sarah the Duchess of York. She is also a mother of three girls.
